We are a non-profit academic community and all positions are voluntary.

The Core Committee consists of the Director and Co-Directors and is responsible for the overall strategy and management of the RoSE Network, including oversight of the General Committee.
Overview:
The RoSE eConference is our flagship event. Held every 2 years, the free, online event sees statistics education researchers from all over the world come together to connect and share knowledge.
The next eConference is due to take place in mid-July 2027 (incoming Conference Co-Chairs will be able to set the specific date). For the 2027 event, we plan to split the conference over two days, each favouring a distinct timezones. Ideally, a Co-Chair would host a day each, but that can be arranged between you.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent the conference on the Core Committee, acting as liaison between the Network’s members, Conference Committee, and the Core Committee
Responsible for the overall planning, running, and hosting of the 2027 RoSE conference
Key point of contact for the conference, including external and internal queries
Oversees the standing and 2027 Conference Committees who will assist in the planning, running, and hosting of the conference
Recruitment of the 2027 Conference Committee as required (e.g., recruiting lab members/colleagues at the host’s institution)
Ensuring the clear documentation of key conference processes and materials to support continuity
Handing over to the next Conference Chair (this post lasts for ~2 years and then hands over to the next Conference Chair after each conference)
Other ad-hoc tasks relating to the conference for the RoSE Network
Person Specification:

We do not require specific experience, but some things that would strengthen your application include:
Experience of conference/event organising, particularly online
An appreciation of accessibility requirements for online events
Strong organisation and documentation skills
As this is a Core Committee role, team and/or project management experience would be beneficial
In addition, you will need to be available in mid-July 2027.
Time Commitment:
We recognise that RoSE committee members are volunteers and that your day jobs are notoriously hectic. As such, we operate a "many hands make light work" model to help share the load and ensure continuity. For the 2027 eConference, we are recruiting two Conference Chairs and you will have a Conference Commitee (some from the 2025 Committee) to support you.
Between the Conference Co-Chairs, you will be expected to:
Attend 1 x 2-hour Core Committee meeting every two months
Attend 1 x 2-hour General Committee meeting every six months
Arrange and chair Conference Committee meetings as required
Spend an average of 30 minutes per week on conference planning and/or related work (which is likely to be concentrated in the lead up to the conference)
Role Duration:
Until August 2027
Overview:
The RoSE Network aims to be truly global. To achieve that, we want to proactively build connections with other statistics education networks, research groups, and individual practitioners throughout the world. As Outreach Co-Director, you would drive this forward by identifying and developing connections in various world regions (with the support of our Geographic Centre Leads) and work closely with our EDI Team to identify and remove any barriers to participation.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent outreach on the Core Committee, acting as liaison between the Network’s members, the geographic centres, and the Core Committee
Key point of contact for outreach, including external and internal queries
Oversees the RoSE Geographic Centres, which aim to support and develop geographical diversity
Working closely with EDI and Communications Teams to promote the RoSE Network and connect us to the statistics education communities in all world regions
Other ad-hoc tasks relating to outreach and marketing strategy for the RoSE Network
Person Specification:

In particular, we are recruiting for one other Co-Director for Finance and, once the two Co-Directors are in place, we will begin recruiting a team of fundraisers to support you.
Between the Outreach Co-Directors, you will be expected to:

Attend 1 x 2-hour General Committee meeting every six months
Arrange and chair Outreach Team meetings as required
Spend an average of 30 minutes per week on proactive fundraising and/or related project work (which can be concentrated in your least busy periods)
Role Duration:
Ongoing, with four week's notice requested.
Overview:
The RoSE Network has so far been entirely unfunded. We'd like to change this, so that we're able to provide assistance where required for accessibility and inclusion (e.g., internet access in remote areas), to develop our infrastructure (e.g., our website and newsletter), and to award prizes and funding for statistics education research and scholarship. The Finance Co-Directors will work to identify, set-up, and manage sources of funding (e.g., a pay-as-you-feel model for our conference, a Patreon-style subscription, merchandise, grants) and look after our accounts (e.g., via a third party management company).
Key Responsibilities:
Represent financial matters, including accounting, fundraising, and financial strategy on the Core Committee, acting as liaison between the Network’s members, the Fundraising Team, and the Core Committee
Key point of contact for financial matters, including external and internal queries
Oversees the RoSE Fundraising Team, which will be tasked with identifying and applying for (with support from the wider committee) sources of funding
Other ad-hoc tasks relating financial strategy and management for the RoSE Network
Person Specification:

We do not require specific experience, but some things that would strengthen your application include:
A creative approach to fundraising
Knowledge of/experience writing successful grant applications, particularly in relation to networking
Strong organisation / record-keeping skills

The General Committee consists of various teams that support the Core Committee in the running of the RoSE Network.
Overview:
At the core of the RoSE Network are our series of Special Interest Groups (SIGS). Each relates to a specific area of statistics education research and practice. The SIGs host regular meetings and Slack channels where researchers can share, discuss, and collaborate on new developments in their field. Everyone is welcome to join any of our SIGs and you can engage as much or as little as you have the capacity to.
We are currently expanding each SIG Lead team so each has three members. The SIGs with confirmed vacancies are:

We are always excited to hear proposals for new SIGs, too! If you would like to set up your own SIG, please indicate this on your application form.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with your co-leads to run your SIG, supported by the Research Co-Directors
Host one RoSE Network webinar each year (arrange a speaker and chair the session)
Contribute to the RoSE eConference (e.g., by reviewing abstracts and chairing sessions on your topic, suggesting invited speakers etc.)
Optionally, organise and host ah-doc events, such as journal clubs, workshops, and "fireside chats"
Optionally, organise and manage collaborative research projects

Person Specification:

Experience/confidence organising and hosting events (e.g., hosting speakers, chairing conference sessions)
Enthusiasm for networking and maintaining connections with other researchers

You will lead your SIG with two others and are also free to recruit "guest leads" to support you with ad-hoc events and intiatives.
As a SIG Lead, you will be expected to:
Attend 1 x 2-hour General Committee meeting every six months
Attend SIG Lead team meetings as required
Spend an average of half an hour per week working on SIG related activities (which can be concentrated in your least busy periods)
Role Duration:
Ongoing, with four week's notice requested.
Overview:

You may choose whether to join our Standing Conference Committee (who work on each of our conferences) or our 2027 Conference Commitee (who work on the next conference only). 2027 Conference Committee members will be invited to join the Standing Conference Committee at the end of their tenure.

Support the Conference Co-Chairs with the overall planning, running, and hosting of the 2027 RoSE eConference. This may include:
Setting up submission forms
Peer reviewing abstracts
Nominating keynote/invited speakers
Scheduling

Overview:
Our social media presence is one of the key ways we connect with and engage the wider statistics education community in our events and initiatives. As well as a critical channel for promoting our own events and initiatives, we seek out and share other statistics education content for our followers.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for advertising RoSE events and initiatives on various social media platforms, as instructed by the Communications Co-Directors
Creating, seeking, and sharing other statistics education content on a regular basis
Person Specification:
We encourage applications from statistics education researchers (and practitioners with an interest in research/scholarship) from all over the world, at any career stage (from undergraduate to Professor), and of any demographic.
We do not require specific experience, but some things that would strengthen your application include:
Experience or a strong interest in social media marketing (especially for academic purposes)

The RoSE Network aims to be truly global. As part of our Outreach Team, our Geographic Centre Leads will drive this endeavour forward by identifying and developing connections in your world regions and working with our EDI Team to identify and remove any barriers to participation.
Key Responsibilities:
Each centre should have between one and three leads that are responsible for the promotion, inclusion, and accessibility of RoSE for their world region, working closely with the Outreach Co-Directors
Working with other RoSE committee members (e.g., communications team) to promote RoSE events and initiatives worldwide, with the aim of fully diversifying the Network geographically (e.g, by connecting with local societies and research groups)
Working with other RoSE committee members (e.g., the EDI, conference, & funding teams) to remove geographical barriers to participating with RoSE events and initiatives
